9th GF-TADs Regional Steering Committee for Asia and the Pacific (RSC9 Asia)

In Asia, the GF-TADs RSC met for the 9th time 20-21st July in Tokyo, Japan. Representatives from all the sub-regions of Asia and the Pacific attended the meeting to report on sub-regional activities and discuss future collaboration and activities to strengthen coordination in the control and eradication of priority transboundary diseases.

The Global Secretariat gave an update on the global situation and report after the Global Steering Committee met in October 2015, as well as presenting the SOP on labelling of GF-TADs activities.

Topics covered at RSC10 included arboviral diseases and aquatic animal diseases. New and emerging diseases and other animal health issues were considered a priority in the different subregions. These new emerging diseases were discussed in detail and the new action plan for 2017 was drawn up.
