The eigth meeting of the Regional  Steering Committee of the GF‐TADs for Africa was held in Accra, Ghana on 17–18 June 2013. 

The President of the Steering Committee (SC) and FAO Regional Animal Production and Health Officer, Dr Cheikh Ly, welcomed the members of the SC on behalf of FAO and thanked the Government of Ghana for hosting the meeting. He informed the SC that the Global Framework for the Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF‐TADs) for Africa will be 10 years in 2014, and a regional 5‐year action plan was developed.
