The third meeting of Regional Steering Committee of the GF-TADs for the Americas was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on August 30 2007.

At the meeting, three of the recommendations were to; 1) Develop a control and eradication program for Worm Borer in the region of Caribbean in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti and in all the countries of South America and to strengthen and maintain surveillance systems in free zones; 2) Continue giving assistance to the Continental Plan for the eradication of swine fever Classical in the Americas that has as its goal the year 2020.; And lastly, 3) The activities and the search for prevention resources were to be strengthened and surveillance and early warning measures for Avian Influenza be carried out throughout the region.
