The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), through their joint Global Framework for the Progressive Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF-TADs), are pleased to invite you to the second session of the two-part webinar series on foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) to be held on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, from 11:00 to 12:30 CEST.

FMD continues to pose a major global threat to food security, livelihoods, and trade. Ensuring access to effective and well-matched vaccines remains a critical pillar of disease prevention and control, particularly in light of recent incursions of exotic serotypes such as SAT1 and SAT2 into new regions.

This session will focus on key aspects of FMD vaccine security, including international standards, vaccine matching, barriers to access quality vaccine, and post vaccination monitoring. It will provide practical insights to support countries and partners in strengthening preparedness and response capacities.
