The 8th West Eurasia Roadmap Meeting for the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Progressive Control Pathway took place in Shiraz, Iran between 04-06 March 2019. Hosted by the OIE, FAO and EuFMD, the meeting marked the tenth anniversary of the launch of FMD control in West Eurasia,  since the declaration by Member Countries in November 2008 in Shiraz, Iran.

The overall objectives of this meeting were to share information on FMD virus circulation and current disease situation in the region, as well as strengthen the epidemiology and laboratory capacity. Additionally, the progress of each country towards the Vision first identified at the Shiraz Meeting in 2008 was assessed and the regional Roadmap for FMD control updated.
