The SGE ASF8 took place on 20-21 September 2017 in Chisinau, Moldova. All SGE ASF Member countries attended as well as nine additional observer countries, at the invitation of Dr B. Van Goethem, President of the GF-TADs for Europe.

Presentations focused on countries' situation since the SGE ASF7 (Paris, May 2017), with a special attention brought to the situation in Romania and the Czech Republic, newly infected. Technical presentations addressed ‘ASF risk communication', and 'laboratory diagnostics and capability' and were delivered by  reknown experts, namely Mrs S. Kerba (WHO Communication expert), and A. Igolkin (ARRIAH/Russia).
