The second Regional Steering Committee of the GF-TADs for the Americas (GF - TADs) was held in Florianópolis, Brazil on November 28, 2006. The meeting was held at the Hotel Costao do Satinho Resort, Florianópolis, Brazil, within the framework of the 18th Conference of the OIE Regional Commission for the Americas.

Under the umbrella of the GF - TADs, the implementation of four regional FAO technical assistance projects on the early detection of HPAI in Central America, the Caribbean, the Andean Region and in the countries of the expanded MERCOSUR, began to be carried out to outline the particularities of the projects and the needs of each region, emphasizing that the projects are based on the strategic guidelines established by the GF - TADs.
