The Third Regional Steering Committee Meeting of GF-TADs (Global Framework for the progressive control of Transboundary Animal Diseases) for Asia and the Pacific was held in Toranomon Pastoral Hotel, Tokyo, Japan, on 23-24 July 2009.

The Meeting was attended by 42 participants of selected FAO/OIE Members (Chief Veterinary Officers; CVOs), Secretariat of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) , Chair of ASEAN Sectoral Working Group of Livestock (ASWGL), Secretariat of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (Host Country), European Commission (EC), USA, FAO (HQ in Rome, Regional Office in Bangkok and FAO Office in Nepal) and OIE (HQ in Paris, SEAFMD (OIE Southeast Asia Foot and Mouth Disease Campaign) and OIE Sub- Regional Office in Bangkok and OIE Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, in Tokyo).
